Meet the Instructor

Rob Volsky has taught makeup classes to groups and individuals in person and virtually for over 40 years.  Since graduating from Cal State Long Beach with a masters degree in Art/Theatre arts, he has prepared students for careers in Theatre, Film, Television, and all other areas of makeup artistry.  Locally, his makeup creations have been seen in theatrical productions such as Beauty and the Beast, Shrek the Musical, Addams Family the Musical, Into the Woods, Cats! and Madama Butterfly.  

He currently serves as Makeup Master for Vero Beach Opera, and Makeup Chairman for Vero Beach Theatre Guild, where he conducts tutorials for the performers for each show. He has won several Genie awards in acting, singing, and lifetime achievement.  In addition to makeup, he is also a director, set designer, prop maker, mime, and scene painter. Some of his public murals have decorated cancer centers, post offices, and private residences.

His most recently directed film, Zero Zero Start!- The heART of Pickleball was his second film to be accepted by the Vero Beach Film Festival in 2023.  A third film is in the works. His favorite volunteer experience was at Stan Winston Studios, where he helped to create the T-Rex for Jurassic Park.  His life message to young people is: “ You can do anything you want in life if you volunteer!”
