What is “Acting Technique”?  Just like with any artistic craft, there are methods, or “techniques” that can be learned, practiced, and implemented to create honest, believable, layered characters.   In this “Crash Course” participants will learn the fundamentals of the following acting techniques: 

• Stanislavski Method (used by Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, and Jack Nicholson)
• Meisner Technique (used by Diane Keaton, Anthony Hopkins, and Grace Kelly)
• Chekhov Technique (used by Gregory Peck, Marilyn Monroe, and Ingid Bergman) 
• Uta Hagen Technique (used by Gene Wilder, Whoopi Godberg, and Faye Dunaway) 

Participants in the class will leave with a “toolbox” of techniques theft can apply to their next role or audition.

Tap Dancing is one of the cornerstones of Musical Theatre and is a part of many popular musicals like: Something Rotten, Anything Goes, Kiss Me Kate, Billy Elliott and many more.  This class is for someone with little to no experience in tap.  Students who take this class will learn the fundamentals needed to become an accomplished tap dancer. 

Ages: 8 & Up

Once a week students will dive into a different iconic musical theatre dance style and learn a selection of the original choreography. Iconic choreographers covered will be Bob Fosse (Sweet Charity, Pippin), Agnes De Mille (Oklahoma), Andy Blankenbueler (Hamilton, Cats Revival), Jerome Robbins (West Side Story), and more!
